Marquette City Commission Approves Structural Analysis of Ore Dock

On Monday, September 30, the Marquette City Commissioned approved a plan for GEI Consultants of Marquette to provide a structural analysis of the lower harbor ore dock's current condition. 

GEI Consultants will be conducting a complete structural and condition analysis of the retired industrial structure. Original construction of the lower harbor ore dock was completed in 1932, and it was operational until 1971. The dock is a prominent landmark in Marquette's waterfront, but is currently closed to the public. The structural analysis will be the first step in a process to determine the future of the dormant structure.
