Last night, Gisele Duerhing, President of the Friends of the Ore Dock BotEco Center, presented to the Marquette City Commission.
Our exhibit for SmartPrize is complete and on display at the Landmark Inn in downtown Marquette. There are 22 entrants in the SmartPrize competition this year and over $20k is being given away! There are maps of the SmartPrize walk at each venue. Be sure to check them all out, there are a lot of great ideas!
The first ever SmartPrize is coming to Marquette and BotEco will be participating! SmartPrize is a 10-day competition from April 2 through April 11, 2016 in downtown Marquette, Michigan.
Thanks to board member Jim Cantrill and his lovely lady, Beth Cassidy, for hosting yet another fabulous BotEco end-of-the-year party! Games were played and good food was eaten! Here’s to another great year for the Ore Dock BotEco Center board.
A recent segment by Michigan Radio reminds us of the rich mining and maritime heritage represented by Marquette's Upper Harbor and Lower Harbor ore docks. BotEco is excited for the opportunity to continue honoring this history as we seek to repurpose the Lower Harbor ore dock into a world-class community center.

A group of students from Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin recently visited Marquette to research sustainable community development. The students spoke with representatives of Ore Dock BotEco center to learn more about the nonprofit's vision to repurpose the iconic Lower Harbor Ore Dock.
