On Monday, September 30, the Marquette City Commissioned approved a plan for GEI Consultants of Marquette to provide a structural analysis of the lower harbor ore dock's current condition.
GEI Consultants will be conducting a complete structural and condition analysis of the retired industrial structure. The dock is a prominent landmark in Marquette's waterfront, but is currently closed to the public. The structural analysis will be the first step in a process to determine the future of the dormant structure.
